I built three of these sites and ran the fourth. Every entry below has a source you can click. Where a site is no longer live at its original address, I link the archive instead of leaving you a dead link.
The Record
I designed and built this public record.
Bad Faith Prosecution
A public record of the Broadview Six case: independent legal research and citizen journalism. I built it so that every claim on the site traces back to the filing it came from. I read the federal docket and checked each date and statute against what I had written before any of it shipped.
A case record is only worth as much as its weakest citation. If one link is wrong, the whole thing is a rumor.
I built this site, and the writing on it is mine.
Grown From Concrete
My own writing, including an honest accounting of my AI use: the full corpus exported, classified by an open-source analyzer I built, independently audited, then verified again from scratch on a competitor’s tools.
Three separate methods agreed. The pipeline and the caveats are public too.
I designed and built this site for a client.
Serie 32 Grocery
A Dominican-owned bodega in Haverstraw. The store needed to be easy to find online, obviously local, and easy to order from.
- I led the page title with “Bodega in Haverstraw, NY,” written for someone typing that into a phone two blocks away.
- I wired in DoorDash ordering rather than asking a corner store to run a checkout it did not need.
- I put in the hours, the address, and what the store carries, because those are the details people actually leave a site over.
The store’s domain lapsed and the site is gone from its original address. I am not going to quietly leave a dead link on a portfolio.
I ran this website as a member of the staff.
Latinos en Axión STL
A Latino community nonprofit in St. Louis. I ran the website — Joomla — and built out the Spanish translation, so the organization could reach its community in both languages instead of one.
I was not only the web person. I worked outreach for Cover Missouri, a Missouri Foundation for Health coalition, helping people enroll in health coverage under the Affordable Care Act. That is the part that still shapes how I think about building for nonprofits: I have sat on the program side of one, not just the vendor side.
The organization’s staff page listed me as Daniel Ismael Aguilar — Website; Cover Missouri Outreach.
Most people who build for community organizations have never worked inside one. I have. I have also been the person those organizations exist for. I know what it is like to need the website to do one specific thing for somebody who is counting on it, today, with no budget and no time. And I know what a bad form costs when you are the one who needs it to go through.
